A blog about re-imagining LIFE
Of Sunsets, Surfing and Serenity

at first

there is apprehension

a build up

of past experiences

an expectation

that things will go wrong

an acceptance

that dreams

maybe

are just that

but then a path is seen

a weaving

meandering

track

that leads

to the water’s edge

I sit there

at the outset

content

to watch

her movements

be soothed by

her sounds

and awed by

how she plays

with the Sun

and the Moon

and the Sky

light

but I want

to be closer

inside

the painting

a character

in Nature’s play

so I cross

the ocean’s threshold

just a toe

then a foot

then I paddle

my hands

cutting the membrane

with each stroke

the water healing

behind me

then i sit

and

wait

wait

wait

rocking

slowly

the ocean

swaying me

like a Mother

her child

in her arms

but suddenly

it is time

to paddle

hard

non-stop

for the Ocean

offers me

a push

a wave

like a Mother

pushing her child

to go play

and I respond

a push

of my own

and I’m on my feet

riding

smiling

serene

One

here

I have found

a way to applaud

Nature’s symphony

her performance

her perfection

and find

the healing

the vitality

and the knowing

that dreams

are simply

the canvas

We must

bring

our own paint
